Winning a trophy is amazing, but usually all you can do it is put it on display in your personal corner of fame, and maybe show it off to your guests when they come over. But when your trophy takes the shape of a luxury wristwatch, things change a lot! You can take your prize with you everywhere and even sleep with it without it being weird.
The winner of the SLS Super Crown World Championship (which took place this past weekend) received just that: a one-of-a-kind opulent watch from Nixon, handcrafted of gold and decorated with numerous diamonds. Chris Cole is the talented skater who will get to wear the insanely lavish piece under his sleeve.
Nixon worked for over eight months on the design, trying to find the perfect shape, with serious detailing and various visual references to the championship. See a short video about the manufacturing process below.
