Sketched out by Julian Guthrie and completed in 2016, the Tuatua House is located in Omaha – a small beach town on Omaha Bay in New Zealand. This spacious and luxurious holiday home was designed to accommodate an entire family as well as a few guests, and it even offers enough space for a boat and some sports equipment.
The main living area is located at the seaward north end of the site, the lawn and pool courtyard face west, while the children’s wing is located at the southern end of the project. The upper level includes two guest bedrooms as well as the owners’ bedrooms, all of which benefit from privacy from the neighboring homes.
As for the choice of materials, the designers decided to go with bagged masonry and cedar surfaces, which were used on both the inside and outside of the abode.
