As a family of water ski enthusiasts, the owners of this residence by Hughes Umbanhowar Architects wanted their home to be close to water and to reflect their passion for water sports. They modified an existing lake in the area and opted for an inexpensive, low maintenance, yet striking house on an elevated ground. The house’s positioning ensures a dramatic view of the half a mile watercourse.
Divided into three different areas (public/fraternal spaces, master bedroom and guest wing), the Ski House H2O is located in Hobe Sound, Florida. It is equipped with a rain water collecting system that stores the water underground and then uses it for irrigations. Outdoor fireplaces and shower are perfect details for a home in Florida’s warm climate. See more in the photos below.
