Chinese Student and Italian Magnate on a $1.5 Million Journey

Remember the world’s most expensive travel package offered by Hurlingham Travel? Well, back when we first wrote about it and the 962 destinations it included, we knew it would take a really wealthy person to buy the luxury package for two, and we didn’t expect many interested travelers to show interest in it very soon. After all, it was a $1.5 million trip!

The truth is, even the guys at VeryFirstTo.com, the ones who launched the holiday offer, had been a bit skeptical about the success of the product. The founder of the company, Marcel Knobil, told The Guardian: “When we launched it, we didn’t know if it would sell. Not all of our products do”. Fortunately for them, though, the two-year journey has found two interested travelers: a Chinese student who is still working on his PhD, and an Italian industrialist.

Apparently the PhD student, who chose to remain anonymous, will only embark on the amazing adventure after he finishes his studies sometime next year. The other candidate for the fabulous trip is very close to booking his half of the deal, according to Knobil. What a wonderful experience awaits the two of them!
