Boston’s Liberty Hotel in the Starwood Luxury Collection 4

Liberty Hotel in Boston has made it in the Starwood Luxury Collection of the world’s best deluxe hotels and resorts. What makes it really unique is its rich historical heritage, and the fact that it was once a prison. It was built in 1851 and some of its old charm has been carefully preserved in the form of exposed brick walls and authentic parts of old jail cells.

Even though heavily restored, the Liberty Hotel (mark the interesting name choice) has preserved its historical value well enough to make it appealing today. The original central rotunda and the soaring ceilings are still present, but modernity and luxury have also found their way into this special structure. The prison catwalks have been completely restored, but they still are reminiscent of the building’s original purpose.

Today there are 300 luxury rooms awaiting their guests in perfect lush conditions. You will also find several unique restaurants in the Liberty Hotel, like Clink, Scampo, or Alibi. The hotel’s lobby rotunda features the Liberty Bar, which continues to the outdoor area, known as The Yard.
