House of the Day: Terrace Mountain House in Texas

Terrace Mountain House in Texas

This is not the first time Dick Cark Architecture makes it on our site with their impressive creations. This time we saved them a spot in our House of the Day section and they filled it with the Terrace Mountain House in Austin, Texas.

You can find it somewhere in Westlake Hills, above the crowded Austin downtown and very close to nature. It is a 4,700 square foot home that perfectly combines the contemporary style with traditional Texas influences. For a plus of intimacy, the house is set far from the street and can be accessed via a long, curved drive. A steel gate opens to the intimate court that leads the visitors to the copper clad front door.

Inside and outside, the main theme is given by the extensive use of Lueders limestone and other natural materials that are typical for Texan houses. The spacious interiors are further enhanced by the large sliding glass doors which provide a seamless transition from the living room to the lovely pool deck with its infinity pool and dramatic views of the city.

We really like everything about the Terrace Mountain House, starting with the beautiful surroundings and ending with the inviting interior and relaxing outdoor living areas. Thumbs up for Dick Clark Architecture.
