Designed by Jorge Hernández de la Garza, the Amsterdam building is located in Mexico City’s Colonia Condesa, which is no stranger superb examples of Art Deco architecture. This particular apartment building adds a touch of modern flair to this charming neighborhood while integrating nicely with its unique aesthetics.

Its terraces look quite similar to those of nearby buildings that were constructed at the start of the century. Speaking of terraces, some of them include planters that facilitate a connection with the surrounding natural environment. Built following an L-shaped plan, the building was renovated carefully in order to preserve the existing facade of an original house. This house is now an Ice-cream store named Nomad, and it is highly appreciated in the area.

Inside, the different levels of the building are linked by interior staircases with seemingly floating steps. Large windows and sliding doors fade the limits between the indoors and outdoors and allow every room to be receive as much natural light as possible.
