Yaroslav Galant’s Embroidered Furniture at Milan Design Week

It’s not every day that you see embroidered furniture, so when we saw what Ukrainian designer Yaroslav Galant brought to this year’s Milan Design Week, we got really excited. Manufactured from DuPont Corian material, all the pieces in his collection feature tiny holes that allow for intricate patterns to be hand embroidered on them.

See for instance the beautiful football table Mr. Galant designed with 54,027 holes and a staggering 32 kilometers (approx. 20 miles) of thread. The way contemporary technology and traditional design patterns come together for these exquisite pieces is really impressive. Who sais ancient art doesn’t go well with contemporary creations?
