Waanders In de Broeren Book Store is one of the most beautiful bookstores/cafés that we’ve ever seen. Vast, luminous and welcoming, it is a place where any literature enthusiast can escape reality and discover new worlds written on pages.
As you can deduce from the photos, the place was originally a huge church with soaring arched ceilings and beautiful murals. The former church is located in The Netherlands, and the transformation was performed by BK Architecten.
Multiple well-organized levels of books await customers and invite them to explore the store. The classic architecture of the building goes surprisingly well with the modern interiors and minimalist furniture, which makes us appreciate BK Architecten’s work even more. Bold and creative renovation is our favorite kind of renovation.
