The 18-carat timepiece was a gift for Bernard G. Gunther from his brother, Frederic. It measures 2 inches in diameter and features a hand-painted white porcelain dial with Arabic numerals.
The precious collectible pocket watch is engraved with the words: “Bernard G. Gunther/From your brother/F. Frederic Gunther/Harvard University/June 26th, 1889”. It is priced at $28,500.
