The World’s New Fastest Car: SSC Ultimate Aero II

SSC Ultimate Aero II, world’s new fastest car

Bugatti and Shelby Supercars have been fighting quite fiercely for the “fastest American production car” title. First it was SSC who swiped the trophy from Bugatti, with the Ultimate Aero TT, then Bugatti came forth with the Veyron Supersport and conquered the world with the new fastest road-legal vehicle.

But SSC will not give up without a fight. Their latest project is the Ultimate Aero II, which can easily reach 275 mph with the help of its incredibly powerful 6.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine: 1350 horsepower at 9,000 revs.

Of course, the exterior is just as appealing as its performance figures are. Almost entirely made of carbon fiber, the car does not only look great, but it is also surprisingly light, having a power-to-weight ratio almost twice as good as the Bugatti Veyron’s.

To get this monster you need to have only two things: the guts to drive it and the money to buy it: just $970,000.
