Whilst it might still be all doom and gloom for the moment, the spring and summer seasons will soon be upon us, so it’s approaching the time where we start to gradually bust out our summer attire and start adding to our wardrobes so we’re ready for the season when it arrives. As with the last few years, there are a few interesting trends surfacing on the runways and we can be sure that those will be found all across the high street, as well as with independent fashion brands, so let’s take a look at what to expect in SS20 season!
Utility trousers are a returning favourite that we can bring with us from 2019, meaning we can carry through an existing part of our wardrobe and still look great without breaking the bank. Cargo trousers have been a hugely popular piece for the past year as part of the utility trend, which brought function into mainstream fashion, combining warm, durable materials and handy pockets with runway-level eccentricity; the result was phenomenal and we’re so glad that this look is going to be carried through into SS20.
Bringing a retro twist into the mix, bowling shirts look set to be a huge hut again, just as they were a couple of years ago. These wide-collared shirts look great in almost any ensemble, from rockstar leathers to the freshest streetwear fits – the options are endless. Choose from muted tones, satin materials, or bold pops of colour for a truly show-stopping style this spring.
If you’re looking to give an eclectic edge to your outfits, consider a bowling shirt with a bold print incorporated into its designs – there are some incredible tops out there if you look hard enough.
If bowling shirts aren’t your style, check out some of these bold print shirts – these pack a huge punch and are sure to set you aside from the crowd!
Just like last summer, co-ord sets look to be the main order of business as we enter a fresh summer season in 2020, which again means you can save a little bit of cash whilst still looking on-trend if you were smart enough to hang onto your co-ords for another year. Ideal as a pool-side style, co-ords often come in bright colours and eye-catching prints – you won’t be hard to find, that’s for sure! A simple shirt and shorts combo is the most likely set you’ll find, but don’t be surprised to see trousers, vests, tees, and shirts all combining in co-ords this spring and summer.
No outfit is truly complete without some seriously stylish footwear and for the coming season, it looks like 70’s inspired running trainers are top of the bill – expect to see unusual materials and soft colour schemes combining with the hottest running shoes styles in 2020! We’re excited to see this one hit the shelves; runners are for sure the comfiest footwear on the market and the opportunity to bring them into our most fashion-conscious fits is not one to be missed.
Spring and summer are always 2 of our favourite seasons thanks to the happy, carefree vibe that it always brings along with it – it’s something that everyone can enjoy and helps us all feel a little better about ourselves. Start prepping for SS20 as early as you can to ensure that you’ve got everything you need for the perfect summer wardrobe as you won’t want to be left scrambling for new clothes once the season hits. Remember to keep hold of those returning favourites too – these could help you put together some seriously cool outfits that are unique to you, with the bonus of leaving you more to spend on a few new pieces for the summer.
