Morgan’s three-wheeled vehicles are known worldwide for their elegance and quirkiness, but they’re definitely not the most powerful or the most practical vehicles in the world. However, thanks to the introduction of the Morgan EV3, the model can definitely score some points in the practicality department, as it is powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor.
Despite its classic looks, the Morgan EV3 is quite contemporary, and it definitely benefits from contemporary power figures. The motor that we mentioned before provides an output of 62 horsepower thanks to its 20-kWh lithium battery, which means that the car and reach 62 mph from a standstill in just 9 seconds. A top speed of 90 mph is definitely nothing to scoff at, but it’s worth keeping in mind that this speed was only achievable due to the vehicle’s carbon-fiber body and wooden frame, both of which contribute to a weight of under 1,100 pounds.
The best news is that the Morgan EV3 will actually go into production by the end of 2016.
