Boeing has taken a new step forward with the next-gen 747-8 Intercontinental jet. It boasts 467 seats, which is 51 seats more than the four-decades-old 747, and which sets the new jumbo in the 400-500 seat market.
The 747-8 Intercontinental is packed with innovative technologies which give it a 16 percent better fuel economy. It also boasts 16 percent less carbon emissions per passenger and a significant 30 percent smaller noise footprint than the previous model.
But this is not all that has been changed about the giant airplane. As people could see at its launch in Everett, Washington, the traditional blue and white image has been replaced by a new white and Sunrise-orange paint job. Also, the inside of the jet clearly drew its inspiration from the 787 Dreamliner for a more spacious and more comfortable design.
