The Fastest Kit Car In The World Is The Quantum GP700

Purchasing a Quantum GP700 is probably the closest you’ll ever get to own a street-legal Formula 1 car, and we’re not exaggerating one bit. Built in Australia, this little four-wheeler flaunts a weight of just 700 kg (1,543 pounds) as well as about 700 horsepower, which makes it the most powerful kit-car in the world.

Its power comes from a 2.7-liter four-pot engine that’s mated to a pair of superchargers. This rear-wheel-drive-based powertrain ensures a 0-62 mph sprint of just 2.6 seconds, while the top speed is somewhere at around 200 mph. As long as it boasts its regular aero package, this thing is theoretically fast enough to drive upside down in a tunnel as long as it manages to reach a speed of 174 mph. That’s just crazy!

No word on the price just yet, but rumors have it that it will be somewhere in the $700,000 range. A cheaper hardtop version is also in the works.
