Inspired by the freedom of the flying albatross, wFoil Group created an award-winning hydro foil concept that is bound to excite all fun seekers across the globe. We have recently covered the story of a similar vessel that successfully merged sailing with flying in one very special sailboat called Hydroptere. While that idea came from the French, the wFoil 18 Albatrosswas developed by a Slovenian team who decided that they should break Hydroptere’s 2009 speed record, which was 51,36 knots.
The Albatross is a two-seater fun-craft that provides next generation top performance and the unique thrill of flying over the ocean effortlessly and with incredible lightness. It was built to be used with an engine or with a sail, depending on the user’s preference. This makes it eco-friendly as well, which is a nice touch for an already impressive concept. Price hasn’t been announced yet, but we do know that the company intends to produce only a limited number of Albatrosses every year.
