The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500

The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 features a brand new 5.8-liter, V8 aluminum engine capable of 650 hp and 600 pound-feet of torque. With a more efficient supercharger, the car can now reach 200-plus miles per hour.

The 2013 model brings other changes, such as updated camshaft profiles, a new cross-drilled block and heads, a carbon fiber driveshaft and upgraded clutch, axle and cooling system. The drive ratio of the new six-speed manual transmission is 3.31-to-1, just perfect to handle the 600 pound-feet of torque.

If you want more, you can also choose the GT500 Performance Pack, which includes a Torsen limited-slip differential and SVT Blistein electronic adjustable dampers with two options: normal and sport. The Track Package offers an external engine oil cooler, a transmission cooler and a rear differential cooler.

The design hasn’t been changed much. The differences from the previous model are the new air splitters and the minimally tweaked rear end, as well as Recaro front buckets for the inside.
