Spyker made an interesting announcement at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Besides unveiling the new B6 Venator, the Dutch sports car manufacturer also informed its fans that a stronger engine is in plan for the famous C8 Aileron. Ever since the model was introduced back in 2000, the C8 has been powered by the same 4.2-liter V8 Audi engine capable of up to 400 HP.
That’s not a bad motorization at all, but it isn’t exactly supercar worthy either. According to the automaker’s Chief Commercial Officer, John Walton, “every supercar needs to have something that begins with a ‘5’ today. That’s why we’re supercharging the car in the future, which will take it to over 500-hp”.
That’s about all the information that fans could receive so far, which leaves plenty of room for speculation on whether this means that the same Audi engine will receive a supercharger, or if Spyker will go for a totally different supercharged engine. We can only wait and see what happens.
