A Slice Of William And Kate’s Wedding Cake Sold For $6,000

If you are reading this, chances are that you weren’t invited to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding back in 2011, which means that you never got a chance to taste their delicious wedding cake. The 8-tiered cake was the centerpiece of the entire event and was created by Fiona Cairns over the course of 5 weeks. It comprised 17 fruit cakes and 900 sugar flowers.

A slice of the exquisite culinary masterpiece was put under the hammer recently in Beverly Hills by Julien’s Auctions, and it was purchased for $6,000 by the CEO of Listia.com, Gee Chuang. The slice is presented in a superb collector’s case that’s engraved with the words “William & Catherine 29 April 2011”. Furthermore, the box is accompanied by a blank invitation and by a wedding card.
The piece of cake will be featured on Listia.com in April 2015, when Kate and William are set to celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary.
