Scenic Tours Announces New Cruise Line: Emerald Waterways

Starting early next year, Scenic Tours will operate a new subsidiary cruise line called Emerald Waterways, whose debut will see the introduction of two sister ships: Emerald Star and Emerald Sky. The 443-foot long vessels will be able to hold 182 passengers each and will take their guests on the Danube, Mosel, Rhine and Main rivers.

Cruises will last between 7 and 14 nights at lower prices than those of other Scenic Tours. This makes Emerald Waterways a new competitor to existing four-star brands, offering innovative design features and “mainly inclusive” services.

One of their most anticipated features is the heated pool with retractable roof, which works as a fun outdoor swimming and sunbathing area by day and an onboard cinema by night. Other goodies include balconies for most cabins, good-sized suites, alfresco dining areas, meals with included wine, beer and soft drinks, shore excursions, and even free return flights for those passengers who travel from London’s Heathrow airport.
