Everyone’s been talking about the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge lately, but it looks like the South Korean tech giant also plans to enter the 360-degree imaging market, which is just as impressive. The product that we’re talking about is the Gear 360, which features a set of fisheye lenses with 15 megapixel sensors that can capture footage at resolutions of 3840 x 1920.
What’s even more impressive is that this footage can be synced with a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge smartphone and viewed on a Gear VR headset. Since it doesn’t weigh much and it isn’t particularly large, the Gear 360 is incredibly portable and practical. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that this gadget is only splash proof and dust resistant, which means that it might get damaged easily if it dropped. Other highlights include a swappable battery and a microSD card slot, but there’s no word yet on pricing and availability.
