Very Rare Star Trek Phaser Prop Is Worth $60,000

Any true sci-fi enthusiast would jump at the chance to own an actual piece of the original Star Trek series. The thing is, due to their exclusivity and rarity, Star Trek props tend to sell for enormous sums of money, as we have seen in 2013 when a Phaser Rifle was bought for no less than $231,000. This time around, we’re talking about a fiberglass phaser prop that first appeared on screen back in 1968. The phaser gun is being sold by an auction house named Propworx, and it is expected to bring in about $60,000.

The item previously belonged to Desilu, which is the production company behind the original Star Trek series. Since 1969, when production ended, the piece has been owned privately and is now ready to find its way into the hands of a fan that is passionate enough to pay thousands of dollars for it.
