Paul Pogba Sets A Record Transfer Fee At $116 Million

It’s not uncommon for football stars to be transferred to different teams for millions of dollars, but it looks like Paul Pogba’s recent transfer to Manchester United actually managed to set a new record at $116 million. The French football star has been associated with the club since he was 16 years old, but he eventually moved on to foreign countries in order to try his luck. Even though he didn’t really shine during the Euro 2016, it’s worth noting that France still made it into the finals, and that’s probably what prompted Manchester United to request his transfer.

Interestingly enough, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was signed for a lower fee, but since Manchester United is often regarded as the “world’s most popular football club,” $116 million shouldn’t really surprise anyone given that we’re talking about a world-class player here. Pogba is currently 23 years gold, and he is set to win about $380,000 per week during his 5-year contract.
