Outstanding Jurassic Watch By Louis Moinet

Louis Moinet is known for manufacturing watches that contain extremely rare materials such as fossilized dinosaur bones or fragments of lunar meteorites. Based on one of the brand’s most precise timepiece, namely the Mechanograph, the new Jurassic Watch is a masterpiece of micro engineering that includes fossilized dinosaur bone in its construction.

The bone dates back to the Jurassic era, which means that it is about 150 million years old. This precious material was used to create the watch’s dial, and even though it is extremely old, it was shaped to resemble something modern and eye-catching, namely an abstract canvas. The bone in question comes from a family of large herbivores, including the Diplodocus. It was unearthed in North America and has been analyzed and authenticated by a famed geologist named Dr Andreas Stucki, who worked closely with Switzerland’s Aathal Dinosaur Museum.

When asked about this unique watch, the CEO of Louis Moinet, Jean-Marie Schaller, stated the following: “This type of masterpiece is highly charged with emotion. For one thing, together with our craftsman Mr. Daniel Haas, we’re working on an extremely rare material – fossilized dinosaur. In addition, just like the meteorites we already work with, this legacy from millions of years ago has come down to us today in excellent condition.”
