New Elegant Altiplano Collection by Piaget

Piaget’s new Altiplano collection has really made an impression at this year’s SIHH. Available in various versions, the watches have a common feature, which is their remarkably thin and accurate in-house movements. Discreet or opulent, round or square, white or rose gold, for him or for her, each unit is remarkable in its own way.

Renowned for being masters of micromechanics, the watchmakers at Piaget have already set a number of records for extra thin watches. One exquisite new model is the Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Gem-set Watch made of 18k white gold and decorated with 216 dazzling diamonds. Powering the 40mm piece is a Manufacture Piaget 838D ultra-thin hand-wound mechanical movement, made in white gold and decorated with 174 diamonds and 8 black cabochons.

Also launched at the famous event was the Piaget Altiplano Date Watch, an upgraded version of the older Altiplano 43 Automatic. This piece features a date complication (which the previous model did not have), but a smaller movement. The automatic caliber 1205P mechanism perfectly fits the 40mm by 6.36mm case, as it measures only 3 mm in thickness.
