Designed and built by Reus Architects, Nandana is a luxury resort that’s part of an exclusive community on the Grand Bahamaisland. It features five plush villa suites made of natural materials, including a lot of Burmese teak (extensively used in the yachting industry) for the walls, ceilings, floors, and exteriors; limestone for the exteriors; and copper for the roofs.
These villas are disposed around a central Main Hall and havetheir own decks. The impressive amount of teak used for this resort (including the Main Hall and the 120 foot infinity pool) was sourced from decommissioned vessels from Asia. If you come here with your own yacht, you can moor it in the dock area, where three slips are ready to welcome quite large vessels. There is also a marina nearby, if your yacht proves to be too big for the resort’s dock.
For Nadana’s flawless construction we can all thank Teak Solutions, the company that sent twenty passionate and experienced carpenters from Germany to the exotic island to complete the project. They lived and worked here for two years, using reclaimed wood and molding it to meet the highest standards of luxury and craftsmanship.
