Specially created to help research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the new Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours for Monacotimepiece by Montblancis the company’s fifth contribution to the Only Watch auction.
Based on the brand’s Nicolas Rieussec Rising Hours series, this one-off piece flaunts an irresistible combination of steel, red gold and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) treatment. The 43 mm case is water resistant to 30 meters and features a domed sapphire crystal over the dial and another pane of sapphire for the back.
The dial has an exquisite design with a number of interconnected displays and a beautiful grain d’orge (barleycorn) guilloché décor. A new patented day/night mechanism indicates what time of day it is by the use of two rotating discs positioned one atop of the other.
Complementing the entire design is the black alligator strap with contrasting stitching in a color that very much resembles red gold. Like all timepieces developed for this auction, this one too has a special engraving on its back. It reads “Only Watch ’13 Unique Piece”.
