Montblanc Exclusive Pen Created for Monaco’s Royal Wedding (4)

Prince Albert II of Monaco and the beautiful Charlene Wittstock celebrated their civil ceremony on July 1 and the religious ceremony on July 2, thus marking another fairy-tale beginning for a couple that lives in the real world. The event was not as pompous as the British royal wedding that the entire world watched on April 29, but it was a dreamy celebration nonetheless.

For this very special occasion, Montblanc created an outstanding writing instrument which the couple used to sign the wedding documents. Taking its inspiration from the Principality’s royal architecture and coat of arms, the pen was made entirely of white gold and adorned with 161 rubies (plus the one on the tip of the clip) and 128 diamonds. The colors of the gems are meant to evoke the colors of Monaco’s flag: red and white. The Montblanc logo appears on the cap, as a beautiful mother-of-pearl decoration. Unsurprisingly, the pen was gifted to the royal couple.
