We love to see things happen for the first time. Like this new Mercedes AMG for instance: it is the first full-sized Mercedes crossover SUV flaunting an AMG engine and performance package. Powered by an AMG 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbine engine, coupled with a AMG Speedshift 7-Speed automatic gearbox, the car boasts 550 horsepower and 560 pound-foot of torque.
It is called the Mercedes-Benz GL 63 AMG, and it features a four-pipe exhaust system, large air intakes at the front, and some quite impressive performance figures. Heavy as it is, the SUV can complete the 0-62 mph run in just 4.9 seconds, and it has a top speed of 155 mph.
While the prices have not been disclosed yet, we do know when the remarkable SUV will be available for purchase: starting November in Europe, and the Q1 2013 in the States.
