Lamborghini Aventador SV Prototype Testing at Nürburgring?

We’ve all heard rumors and speculations about a more powerful Lamborghini Aventador with a simple SV (Super Veloce) addition to its name. Well, the guys at Autoblog.com have recently spied a yellow beauty that seems to be a prototype of the hyper car.

What they saw on the Nürburgring track were a couple of aerodynamic changes, including a lower air splitter at the front and a new piece on the rear spoiler (a Gurney flap) for extra downforce. Also visible in the shots are the ultra-thin tires and the new center-lock wheels. The modified brake calipers have apparently positioned differently on this model.

Other improvements that you can expect to see in the SV include tweaked suspensions, maybe some more aero upgrades, and quite a bit of extra power. Rumor has it that this beast will put out some 800 HP when complete.

In terms of weight, the standard Aventador is already doing great with its monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber, so we don’t think that the SV will shed any more pounds. However, we will find all that and more at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
