Princess Diana memorabilia sales are still extremely successful today, almost 16 years since her tragic demise. One such event is scheduled for March 19, and it is going to be held by Kerry Taylor Auctions at Bermondsey , London. The auction will sale ten gorgeous dresses that Diana wore on various important occasions, including a superb black gown that she chose for her 1985 visit to the White House, where she danced with John Travolta as the crowd admired them both.
The collection is said to be worth a whopping £600,000, or approximately $915,000. The other pieces offered for sale were an essential part in many of the late Princess’ official visits around the world: the USA, South Korea, Brazil, Australia, India, and Austria. The photos which show her wearing the exquisite gowns were taken not only by paparazzi, but also by famous photographers like Lord Snowdon and Mario Testino.
The aforementioned silk velvet Victor Edelstein dress in which Diana danced with John Travolta is expected to go for £300,000 ($457,500). A Bruce Oldfield black velvet evening gown that she wore to a Les Miserables musical gala opening will probably go for £50,000 ($76,000). The collection wears the signatures of the Princess of Wales’ favorite designers, such as Bruce Oldfield, Victor Edelstein, Catherine Walker, and Zandra Rhodes.
