Hydro Mechanical H2 Watch from HYT and AP Renaud &Papi

Remember the outstanding HYT H1 timepiece that was unveiled at Baselworld in 2012? Well, that innovative stunner has just gotten a sibling. Equally alluring, the new watch is simply called HYT H2, and it boasts the same core technology. This model was developed together with AP Renaud &Papi, and it is limited to only 50 units.

Aside from the regular watch mechanics, this piece also features a unique system which pushes a green liquid through a capillary in order to show the time. The 48mm titanium watch is very alluring visually speaking, but apparently the liquid display mechanism results in unwanted inaccuracies. Apparently temperature variations – from the wrist, the body, or the environment – can affect itsreliability.

HYT did create a special indicator that informs the wearer if the time is displayed properly or not, but that doesn’t exactly solve the problem. Apparently the H2 continues to work accurately regardless of temperature variations, but the capillary fails to show the exact time when the conditions are not optimal. But if looks are more important than flawless functionality, then this piece is definitely for you.
