Studio Anne Carlton created a remarkable luxury chess set, specially designed to celebrate a historical milestone for Great Britain: Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The set will be launched on October 1 and it will make an excellent Christmas gift that could also become a family heirloom with great historical value.
The beautifully crafted set features hand painted royal figures like The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Rook represents the famous Windsor Castle’s Round Tower , which dates back to the 12th century. Illustrated by the pawns are the choristers of St George’s Chapel at Windsor.
The managing director of Studio Anne Carlton, Michel Lee, describes the exquisitely crafted set as appealing “not just to chess players but to all those people around the world who acknowledge the British Royal Family and wish to own and enjoy a delightful and useable piece of collectible memorabilia”.
Each luxurious Diamond Jubilee chess set includes a Parchment Certificate and reflects the importance of the event that the British royal family will celebrate in 2012: HM The Queen’s accession to the throne, 60 years ago, in February 1952.
