Hennessey Performance Announces the 2014 Venom GT2

The stunning Lotus-based Venom GT from Hennessey Performance will be getting a new “running partner”. Called the 2014 Venom GT2, this is not a sequel of the first supercar, but an excellent addition to the goodies Hennessey will have to offer. The tuner plans to sell both models and not replace the first with the latter.

So what will the GT2 bring to the table? Information is not complete yet, but we do know that it will be powered by a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine which, when running on plebian E85 pump gas, will be able to deliver a staggering 1,500 hp! For extra $165,000, buyers can get an optional 7-speed paddle-shift transmission.

This kind of makes you wonder just how much will the whole car cost? The answer is around $1.25 million! The prohibitively expensive Venom will also boast an excellent power-to-weight ratio of 1:1, and some aerodynamics improvements as well. You can expect to see the hypercar making its official debut in late 2013.
