Have Kids? Here’s How to Keep them Safe on your Next Luxe Vacation

Keeping kids safe while traveling is always an extra hard challenge, whether you are traveling a few hundred miles or overseas. Here are some tips to help keep your children safe on any trip, and even prevent injury from car accident, and guard your own peace of mind at the same time:

Each child should have a cheap, disposable cell phone with them at all times. Note the key words ‘cheap’ and ‘disposable.’ This is not a device they are going to be calling their friends on or playing games with. It’s strictly for the built-in GPS monitoring that will allow you to track them if and when they stray out of sight.

It’s also a good idea to supply children with a loud whistle on a wrist binder that they can take with them everywhere. That way if they suddenly lose sight of you or are confronted with a frightening and/or dangerous situation all they have to do is give one mighty blast on the whistle. It’s low tech, but very effective.

And one final piece of advice: Children become dehydrated much more easily and quicker than adults, so make sure that each child is offered frequent opportunities to drink water. Bottled water is virtually endemic world wide nowadays, so it should never be a problem to help your kids have a bottle of water with them at all times.
