Jaquet Droz first launched the elegant and classy Grand Second Quantieme timepiece in 2011. At this year’s Baselworld event, however, a new version of the watch made quite an impression among luxury enthusiasts. Simply called Grand Second Quantieme 2013, the piece is simply stunning, and it is available in two colors: blue and chocolate brown.
The original 43 mm stainless steel case has remained unchanged, but the white dial was swapped with a new one, finished with clean vertical Geneva striping. The brown dial version comes with a matching brown alligator strap, while the blue dial got the blue strap. The overall effect of these touches of color is absolutely priceless: extra glamour and class with almost no effort at all.
Another slight difference between the old and the new version can be seen on the two subdials, where some of the initial hour and minute markers(including the roman numerals) have been changed with more minimalist baton shapes. Inside the case lies an automatic mechanical JD caliber with double barrels.
