Famous Highlander Superyacht Can Now Be Chartered

It’s not every day that ordinary people get the chance to charter a superyacht that used to entertain the likes of Prince Charles and Ronald Reagan. The Highlander is a luxurious superyacht that was constructed in 1986 for none other than Malcolm Forbes, who used it to host extravagant parties that enticed some of the most important people in the world. Apart from Prince Charles and Ronald Reagan, the decks of the Highlander were also walked by Paul McCartney, Harrison Ford, Mick Jagger, Margaret Thatcher and Robert de Niro.

In 2012, the vessel was purchased by a wealthy businessman named Roberto de Guardiola, who made sure that it would be renovated extensively in order to meet modern standards of comfort, performance and aesthetics. The main changes involved the addition of a new paint job, the lengthening of the hull and numerous mechanical improvements.

With enough accommodations for up to 12 guests and 11 crewmembers, the Highlander measures 162 feet in length. However, even though it is undoubtedly massive, this sumptuous superyacht is able to reach a cruising speed of 13 knots effortlessly. The vessel will start off its adventures in the Mediterranean, but it will eventually end up on the beautiful waters of the Caribbean.
