1. ISLAND IN FAADHIPPOLHU ATOLL
Faadhippolhu Atoll or Lhaviyani Atoll is an administrative division of the Maldives. It probably isn’t the most famous place on earth, but it sure is amazing. Beautiful wild landscapes on exotic islands with perfect climate – this is what you get if you go to this atoll. Out of the 54 islands in the Lhaviyani Atoll only 5 are populated and you there are only 4 resorts. But they all offer absolutely everything you need: perfect accommodation, restaurants, shops, bars and even golf courses. Just show them the money!…
2.THE BORA BORA ISLAND
Bora Bora is definitely worthy of its fame! It is an island dependent on its tourism and this is a good thing for it, as tourists never cease to come to this place. And they have their reasons! Bora Bora offers over-the-water bungalows built on stilts over the island’s lagoon.
The best thing about them is that you can opt for either a modest and a bit cheaper one or for an extra luxurious version. Your fun time is also ensured here: scuba diving and snorkeling, and for the adrenalin seekers the dive operators on the island also offer shark feeding dives.
3. THE BAY OF ISLANDS IN NEW ZEELAND
Here is another exotic and enchanting place, perfect for laying on a comfy beach chair with a nice cocktail in your hand. Or maybe you’re more like the adventure-seeking type of person. No problem! Diving, sailing and adventure sports await you there. Maybe you’ll even decide to get married there, as weddings for tourists are not uncommon on the Bay of Islands.
4. THE GREAT BLUE HOLE
It’s not an island, but more like the thing that remained after someone pulled out a deep-rooted island from the ocean. And now for the real scientific information: The Great Blue Hole is a huge underwater sinkhole 60 miles away from the coast of Belize, Central America. It was formed during the Quaternary glaciations and it all began about 153,000 years ago. This is a dream-place for scuba divers, as the hole measures 984 ft across and is 407 ft deep. And if you want to stay in the area for several days, just do it! There are islands near the hole where you can spend an unforgettable vacation.
5. FIJI ISLANDS
This is an island nation in South Pacific, officially known as the Republic of the Fiji Islands. Why is this a beautiful place to go to? First of all who could call a tropical island something other than beautiful? This is a place that remains equally enchanting for those who choose to stay in a relatively cheap cabin and for those who spend pots of money on highly luxurious hotels and resorts. Visitors can take part in many interesting activities like shopping, sporting or participating to different kinds of festivals and events.
6. PALAU ISLAND
Another island nation in the Pacific Ocean is the Republic of Palau, one of the world’s youngest sovereign states. If you choose to spend your vacation here, then you most probably want to do it right. This means you should book a room in one of the best hotels in the area, something like the five stars Palau Pacific Resort. White sand, tropical gardens, bright sun, crystal clear water and king-like living conditions, they all await you on this splendid island.
7. TAHITI ISLAND
Tahiti is the largest island of the 118 islands and atolls which form the French Polynesia. It is many people’s first choice when they want a special wedding or honeymoon, an exotic spa vacation or even a gay and lesbian getaway. Diving, cruising, shopping, festivals and a lush nightlife – you can find them all in Tahiti. And the sceneries – simply amazing!
8. MIDWAY ATOLL IN HAWAII
An absolutely spectacular wildlife experience! It is the world’s largest fully protected marine area with amazing intact coral reef systems. 9. MINI ISLAND, HONOLULU, HAWAII
We just ran across this picture on the internet and we find it absolutely adorable! A perfect little toy-like island in a perfectly blue water, very close to the shore. We can’t help but wonder if there are more of its kind in the area. They surely would make an excellent site for playing hide-and-seek! We must say: nature makes absolutely amazing things for us.
10. FAROE ISLANDS
The Faroe Islands are situated about halfway between Iceland and Great Britain and they belong to the Kingdom of Denmark. We are not talking about an exotic tropical island anymore, but this doesn’t make the place any less interesting. The landscapes are bound to leave you breathless, as the perfect green grass, the beautiful rocks, the white waterfalls and the heavy clouds make the greatest pictures together.
11. KOH PANNYI (SEA GYPSY ISLAND)
Not a floating piece of land, but a floating village! Koh Pannyi is the name of a small village built about two centuries ago. It stands on stilts and its story is really unique. The first to settle in this place were three Muslim families who were not permitted to live on Buddhist land. So they found a perfectly ingenious method to solve the problem: they built their houses over the water that surrounded the land. Today there is a school, a mosque a health center and all the institutions that a village may need. Great job, people!
