Recently unveiled at Baselworld 2013, the new Patek Philippe Ref. 5200 Gondolo 8 Days is powered by a Swiss manual-wind in-house developed movement, caliber 28-20 REC 8J PS IRM C J with 28,800 vibrations per hour. It also boasts 28 jewels and a power reserve of 8 days, as the name clearly indicates.
The case is made of 18k white gold and features a concave caseback. It is water resistant to 30 meters and it measures 47mm by 35mm. Protecting the dial is a domed sapphire crystal that allows glare-free time reading. The dials with sunburst finish are available in either silver or blue, featuring off-center seconds, a power indicator at 12 o’clock, and a white date at 6 o’clock.
You can go for either a back matte alligator strap or a glossy blue one, both having large scale patterns. The buckle matches the case, being made of 18k white gold.
