Döttling’s Outstanding Colosimo 1:13-Scale Safe

Döttling’s Outstanding Colosimo 1 13-Scale Safe

Inspiration for this remarkable project came from the past: Döttling created the smallest vault in the world and called it Colosimo, after “Big Jim” Colosimo, a famous gangster of the 20th century who lived in Chicago. The banks of that time felt compelled to devise special safes that would make it impossible for Big Jim and others like him to open them. The result was a series of huge vaults with round doors and radial bolts that were part of a highly complex and unbreakable lock mechanism.

These massive safes is what gave Markus Döttling the idea to create this unique, 1:13-scale safe. So what will you keep in it, if you decide to buy the tiny vault? Its makers can fit the unit with a Döttling precision watch winder, or even a cedar wood humidor insert, plus an integrated air humidifier, making it a perfect place to keep your cigars.

Small enough to be set on your desk, the safe boasts glossy finishes that make it a classy decorative object too. But if the steel surface does not suite your taste, you can commission the company to personalize your safe according to your taste. Apparently Döttling can dress up your Colosimo in calf skin, carbon fiber, or any other material that you want.
