This one is not for PETA people. It is, however, for the bold fashionistas who don’t mind stirring controversies with their outfits. Boldly merging footwear design with the art of taxidermy (it’s not very often that you see these two notions in the same sentence), Divya Anantharaman has created a unique pair of luxury heels.
The fabulous footwear is actually a really beautiful work of art, if you can get past the fact that it includes dead birds. Covered with Swarovski topazes and raw smoky quartz (500 carats), the pumps’ most stunning design features are the beautiful birds with their wings spread as if in an embrace.
The opulent shoes are priced at approximately $3,000 and are definitely not fit for everyday street wear. But before you choose a high-end gala or other luxury event at which to show up wearing these, you need to be sure that you can face all the disapproving looks and raised brows that will definitely surround you. Just focus on the compliments – you’ll get plenty of those as well!
