Dinosaur Fossils to Be Sold by Bonhams Soon

On May 22, Bonhams will hold its spring 2013 Natural History auction, where nature enthusiasts will have the possibility to bid for some of the world’s most exciting and rare vertebrates and invertebrates, including a selection of dinosauria. The highlight of the Los Angeles event will be a juvenile Tenontosaurustilletti skeleton that is estimated to fetch between $150,000 and $180,000. It was reportedly discovered approximately five years ago in Montana.

Also discovered in Montana is an impressive upper jaw of a Tyrannosaurus rex, with five mature teeth and two more emerging ones. This lot is expected to go for $70,000-$90,000. The list continues with a dinosaur leg of a newly discovered species of a North American long-necked dinosaur. This one measures 11 feet and is believed to get as much as $40,000.
