On November 30th Hong Kong will be the host of an important event. Christie’s will organize a sale where 550 rare timepieces, worth over $11 million, will be auctioned.
The collection will feature high quality modern, as well as vintage watches, some dating back to the 1940s, jewelry timepieces and Chinese pocket watches with beautiful designs.
One of the auction’s attractions will be a rare pistol combined with a watch and perfume sprinkler valued at $350,000 – $550,000. The piece combining Swiss technology and admirable craftsmanship was appreciated by the Imperial court in China and the European aristocrats and royalty back in the 18th and 19th centuries. The watch measuring 10.8 cm. (4.25″) was produced by Moulinie, Bautte & Cie, Geneva.
Other valuable items present at the show will be a diamond and enamel-set ring watch, which will come in its original 1810 box ($87,500 – $112,500) and a heart-shaped gilt, glass and pearl-set buckle watch ($50,000 – $75,000).
