It takes money to make money, right? Well, that’s certainly not a problem for James Cameron! He and his team made the highest-grossing film in history with a domestic gross of over $760,387,000 and a foreign one of $2,015,640,334.
Now they are intensively planning the two sequels of the world-famous Avatar. Twentieth Century Fox and Cameron made the news official and now we know for sure that the second an the third film will be released in 2014 and 2015 respectively. They will be shot consecutively and even though that means a lot of work for everyone involved in making the film, it is good news for us, the inpatient fans.
James Cameron is expected to start writing the scripts for Avatar 2 and 3 sometime next year, as the plans for pre-production have been made for late 2011. He assured us of the fact that the sequels will be no less entertaining than the first Avatar. The themes, the characters, the story, they will all meet out expectations.
“Our goal is to meet and exceed the global audience’s expectations for the richness of Avatar’s visual world and the power of the storytelling”, Cameron said. He promises to continue to explore the new technologies that he pioneered in his first “blue creation”, and we are beyond anxious to see the result.
