Bulgari Blue Diamond Ring for the First Time at Auction

This fall, Bonhams will sell an exquisite rare Bulgari blue diamond ring at their Fine Jewelry Sale in London (September 1). Sold by a private European collector, the jewel has never been seen at an auction before, and Bonhams’ Director of Jewelry, Jean Ghika declared that the auction house “is honored to have been chosen to handle the sale of this magnificent ring”.

There are two things that make this ring special: first, it flaunts an extremely rare gem, a fancy vivid blue diamond with highest grading for a colored diamond, SI2 clarity and 3.72 carats. Second, the designer of the dazzling piece is a luxury Italian brand, famous for its fine craftsmanship and sophisticated creations. The second pear shaped gem on the ring is a beautiful D-color 3.93-carat white diamond with VS2 clarity.

Expected to sell for between $965,000 and $1,287,000, the ring was bought by its current owner’s father as a gift for his wife. According to Ghika, “Not only is this jewel an exquisite example of Bulgari’s craftsmanship but the fancy vivid blue diamond is an incredibly rare gem in its own right”.
