Bacardi Celebrates Its 150th Anniversary With Style

Bacardi, the largest privately owned liquor company, has launched a very special limited edition rum to celebrate its 150th anniversary. They called it the Ron Bacardi de Maestros de Ron, Vintage, MMXII. Each of the only 400 bottles will contain a unique blend created by eight Maestros de Ron (Master Blenders), all members of the Bacardi family.

The rum was slowly refined for two decades in American oak barrels, and finished in six-decades-old cognac barrels. This has given the liquor a fine taste, one that cannot be compared to any other premium rum in the world. With 43% alcohol per volume, the rum will be sold in hand blown crystal decanters. Each 500-ml bottle comes with a high-end packaging, and will cost $2,000.

Bacardi will also hold a series of lavish birthday parties around the world, bringing together members of the company and major travel retailers. The first party was held in Germany (January 28), the second will happen on February 1 in Canada, and then Bacardi will continue the fun in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East.
