Asia Is Getting Richer by the Minute, Leaving Europe Behind

Vietnam, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, India and Hong Kong. What do these places have in common, besides the fact that they are all from Asia? They are the regions that stood out in a recent report that showed the financial and economic evolution of the world. It is becoming increasingly more obvious that Asian countries are thriving and this shows very well in the continually growing number of millionaires they have.

The 15th annual World Wealth Report by Capgemini and Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management shows that North America is still holding the leading position when it comes to wealth, but Asia seems to be determined to take its place. Europe is already behind Asia, which boasted 3.3 million people worth at least $1 million in 2010. Also, the economy in the Asia-Pacific region is still growing at a faster pace than the developed nations.

The total world wealth in 2010 was of $42.7 trillion, of which North America had 11.6 trillion and Asia boasted $10.8 trillion. For how long do you think North America will hold the first place in the ranking?
