Amazing RM 39-01 Automatic Aviation E6-B Timepiece

The new RM 39-01 Automatic Aviation E6-B watch is another aviation-inspired timepiece from Richard Mille. This piece is actually a small-size flight navigation instrument – a modern interpretation of Lieutenant Philip Dalton’s 1930s invention, called the E6B rule. The bezel is extremely complicated and it can be used to calculate and read various values, such as wind influence, density altitude, ground speed, flight times, and fuel consumption. It is also an excellent device for unit conversions: kilograms, pounds, feet, kilometers, liters, gallons, knots.

Because no errors are permitted in aviation, the watch is equipped with a function-locking mechanism that prevents unwanted activation of the functions. A special locking crown will show the wearer if the locking mechanism is activated or not, using green/red markers.
