All New 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28at New York Auto Show

The Chevrolet Z/28 is back and we love it! Much lighter, quite powerful, and extremely good looking, this bad boy is a winner by our standards. Under the hood it holds the same engine that powers the C6 Corvette, namely a 7.0-liter LS7 small block V8. No official power figures have been released yet, but its makers assure us that drivers will enjoy over 500 HP and 47- lb-ft of torque. Transmission is manual only.

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is reportedly 300 pounds lighter than the ZL1 thanks to a number of weight saving modifications. These include lighter wheels, optional air conditioning system, and even a thinner rear glass. Improvements have also reached the chassis and the braking system, resulting in much better lap times, three seconds better than those of the ZL1.

In the aerodynamic department, the Z/28 boasts rocker extensions, flared fenders, front splitter, new undertray, rear spoiler, and new diffuser. On the inside, the ride flaunts standard Recaro seats (whichare currently optional on the ZL1 and SS models), flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a matte-metallic finish known as Octane.
