A Replica of Princess Diana’s Wedding Dress For Sale

Fourteen years after her death, the beautiful Princess Diana remains a live memory for many of us. She is remembered for her beauty, elegance and stunning appearances.

Designers David and Elizabeth Emmanuel created Diana’s replica wedding dress and bridal shoes for her wax work at Madame Tussauds. Now the dress is for sale at an auction in London, England. It is expected to fetch $104,403 and all the money will go to charity. The auction is called ‘A Passion for Fashion’ and it will take place at the Kerry Taylor Auctions on November 29th.

Although the dress uses the same trimmings, fabrics and toile as the original, the two are not identical. The veil and train measure around a third of the authentic ones and the antique Carrickmacross lace on the bodice bears some slight differences.

Clive Shilton designed the ivory satin bridal shoes which are expected to sell for more than $80,000. Mother of pearl sequins and seed pearl beads adorn these beautifully created shoes. There are in fact 2 completely identical pairs, both worn by the Princess. One pair is in the Althorp collection and the other is presented at this auction.

Other dresses belonging to Princess Diana were also sold in the past years: in 2010 a black taffeta dress fetched $276,000, in 2007 a blue dress was sold for $125,000 and, not so long ago, another wedding gown replica went for $175,000.A Replica of Princess Diana’s Wedding Dress For Sale (1)
